"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
-Carl Rogers

My Mission

I am a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and received my Masters of Science in Nursing at Columbia University. I have worked in a variety of  mental health settings including  community health centers, inpatient substance detoxification units and outpatient mental health clinics treating patients with depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention/deficit hyperactivity disorder, and bipolar disorder. My mission is to provide compassionate, attentive and affordable mental health care to my patients.  I strive first and foremost to establish a secure space and take a curious and thoughtful approach to evaluation. I consult with other healthcare providers and family members when necessary to help my patients get the support and attention that they deserve.

I believe that self acceptance and compassion are foundations of wellness. I encourage clients to take stock of their strengths to empower them in their healing. I prescribe medications when appropriate but also encourage and educate patients about the benefits of regular exercise, meditation practices and complementary and alternative treatments that they can employ to improve their mental health. I believe that for many patients psychotherapy is paramount to healing and encourage my patients to engage in concurrent psychotherapy and regularly coordinate care with therapists.
